NCIS bids a heartfelt farewell to Dr. Mallard, better known as Ducky, in a tribute episode during season 21. The team completes Ducky’s final case, with Tony DiNozzo returning to offer support to Jimmy Palmer. The episode also includes subtle nods to Leroy Jethro Gibbs and Abby, with a touching black wreath from Abby in Kasie’s lab symbolizing their close relationship.
While it would have been nice to see Abby back in person, the gesture adds to the emotional resonance of the tribute. As for Pauley Perrette’s departure from NCIS, it was prompted by a traumatic experience on set and her desire to move on. Despite her absence, the show continues to honor its characters’ legacies.
