According to a report from Deadline, Laurence Andries, a TV writer and producer known for his work on shows like How to Get Away with Murder and Supernatural, is facing six felony counts of sexual assault. The charges stem from an incident in June 2022, where an unidentified man alleges that Andries drugged and assaulted him after meeting for drinks. Andries was arrested in August 2023 and released on a $150,000 bond, but as of now, no preliminary hearing has been scheduled.

In an interview with ABC-7, the accuser, identified as John Doe, referred to Andries as his mentor but claimed that he was drugged and assaulted. Court documents indicate that the charges include sodomy, oral copulation, and sexual penetration by anesthesia or controlled substance of an unconscious person.

The relationship between Andries and John Doe reportedly began in a writers’ program, where they became friends. Despite the potential damage to his Hollywood career, John Doe reported the alleged assault immediately after it occurred.

Andries, known for his work on Blue Bloods and other projects, has not been involved in any new projects since the allegations surfaced. He also holds a position as a VP of programming for the Writers Guild Foundation, but the impact of the charges on his role and future in the industry remains uncertain.
