**NCIS: Hawai’i Star Vanessa Lachey Reacts to Show’s Cancellation with Emotional Instagram Post**

Following the surprising cancellation of “NCIS: Hawai’i” after three seasons, star Vanessa Lachey took to Instagram to share her mixed emotions. Describing herself as “gutted, confused, blindsided,” Lachey juxtaposed her disappointment with gratitude for the show’s devoted fan base.

Lachey, who played Special Agent in Charge Jane Tennant of the Pearl Harbor office, expressed her bittersweet feelings about the show’s abrupt end. The series, which premiered in 2021, was groundbreaking for the franchise, featuring Lachey as its first female team leader.

On May 1, Lachey posted a serene video overlooking the ocean, a nod to the show’s pilot scene. In her reflective caption, she reminisced about filming the first episode and shared a poignant message about life’s transient nature. “Forever your Sweet Jane… This was the same spot where I filmed episode 1. I sat here at 2am in June 2021 and stared into the ocean. I asked her to protect me, my family, my crew, and our show,” she wrote.

Contemplating the show’s conclusion, she drew parallels between the natural ebb and flow of the ocean and life’s impermanence. “Just as the air hits the water & the water hits the land, the waves connect to the shore, some with a huge impact, then… it goes back out. You see… we aren’t meant to be here forever, we are on borrowed time,” she reflected.

Lachey acknowledged the contributions of the cast and crew, expressing regret over the lack of a proper farewell. “I wish we had a proper goodbye, I’m sorry we didn’t. I know we ALL are connected deeper than any TV show. I will go to the ends of the earth for my cast & crew! If you come across ANY of them… hire them! You won’t be disappointed. Salt of the earth people,” she added.

The series finale of “NCIS: Hawai’i,” filmed weeks prior, is set to air on Monday, offering viewers a conclusion to the story. Co-star Noah Mills, who played Jesse Boone, also shared his sentiments on Instagram, reminiscing about the joyful moments on set and expressing gratitude to the Oahu community where the series was filmed.

“In Hawai’i we don’t say ‘Good-Bye’, we say ‘A Hui Hou’ it means ‘until we meet again’. To you all & especially the beloved fans… A Hui Hou,” Lachey concluded.

Vanessa Joy Minnillo, born at Clark Air Base in Angeles City, Philippines, to an American father and a Filipino mother, has made a significant impact as the star of “NCIS: Hawai’i,” bringing a unique and heartfelt perspective to the role and the show.
