NCIS already has the perfect replacement for Jessica Knight, but it would have to happen under specific conditions. Knight’s position on the Major Case Response Team (MCRT) is in jeopardy after she accepted a promotion at the end of the NCIS season 21 finale.
This promotion would make Knight the REACT Chief Training Officer at Camp Pendleton, relocating her across the country, far from the Washington D.C. office and the rest of the NCIS cast.
If Jess decides to go, her departure will disrupt her current team, which includes Alden Parker (Gary Cole), Timothy McGee (Sean Murray), Nick Torres (Wilmer Valderrama), Kasie Hines (Diona Reasonover), Dr. Jimmy Palmer, and NCIS Director Leon Vance (Rocky Carroll). It could also affect her relationship with Jimmy, as the news has already caused tension between them. Should Jessica Knight leave the Washington D.C. office, her role would need a suitable replacement in NCIS season 22.
